My kennel name is della Casa di Scorpio. I have an Italian Greyhound female imported from Italy and I’m a member of the ÖKWZR and the CPLI, the Club of IG’s in Italy. I’m working close with Italy and I want to realize my goals to protect the Italian Greyhound as the CPLI plans it, to breed resistant dogs with good character and a harmony in type.
I was born in 1981 and I live with my dog and two cats in Stattegg, near Graz. When I was a child I always wanted a pet, especially a dog, but it wasn’t possible. My parents didn’t want a pet and my mum was allergic. But I had luck. I found my best friend Alina. She had everything, cats, dogs, bearded dragon, frogs, turtles and fish and by the way at that moment her parents had a litter of Akita-puppies. Alina also took me to Dog Shows and there I started to love them and I got known to the multiplicity of dog breeds. She always was a great exhibitor and a lover of exotic breeds. I had luck because she often took me to dog shows to assist her, so I learnt a lot of exhibiting and dog education in common.
Years went by and I left home. First of all I took two cats, Jason and Medea. They aren’t pure breed but I love them. And I never stopped dreaming about my own dog, one thing was clear all the time, it has to be a sighthound, but which one was a hard decision. When I saw the first time an Italian Greyhound it was love at first sight. I started to look around for a puppy. At that moment there wasn’t a good puppy for me available. But finally at the EURO DOG SHOW ‘05 in Tulln I met Sergio & Gaetano (dei Raggi di Luna). The first time a saw Sergio, he had 4 beautiful black IG’s and I was speechless because they were elegant, with a good structure and very beautiful heads. That was exactly what I wanted, a dog to love and to exhibit. Immediately I contacted the breeders, I speak Italian, so the communication was a little bit easier. And a few months, telephone calls and countless e-mails later I went to Sirtori, near Milano, and my dream had come true, I held Ilaria in my arms.
